Dubai in the Top-10 world’s ‘must visit’ places

Dubai was placed ahead of Venice and Las Vegas in the ranking of the world's best tourist destinations.

Dubai was ranked the first among the Middle East and North Africa cities recommended for tourists to visit, and the tenth among the best places on Earth for tourists according to the US News and the World Report. "Future city" was ranked this high in the attractiveness for tourists rating mainly due to its mega-constructions, world record-breaking landmarks and iconic architecture projects, together with breathtaking views of the Persian Gulf and a wide range of entertainment and adrenaline-pumping activities.

This Middle Eastern city is filled with one-of-a-kind attractions, including the Dubai Mall – one of the world’s largest shopping centres – and the indoor Ski Dubai,” the World Report stated.

The study was based on independent travelers’ assessments and opinions of experts in the field of tourism. It covered more than 300 cities and places around the world. Each place was assigned a certain score in categories of attractions, culture, romantic ambience, entertainment facilities, food and nightlife.

By all these criteria, Dubai managed to overrate even such popular destinations as Santorini (Greece), Honolulu (Hawaii), Phuket (Thailand) and Machu Picchu (Mexico). A significant part in Dubai being ranked among world’s best cities for tourists is attributed to its accommodation advantages: family hotels and luxury penthouses on the manmade island of Palm Jumeirah; serviced apartments and suites, short-term villas and studios rents, and both exclusive luxury offers, such as the seven-star Burj Al Arab Hotel.
