Palm Jumeirah extends out into the waters of the Arabian Gulf, connecting with the coastline near Knowledge Village and Dubai Internet City. It has become an iconic landmark, sitting  between the Burj Al Arab and Madinat Jumeirah, close to Dubai Marina, JBR and Al Sufouh.

Aside from the many boutiques, bars and restaurants the Palm’s trunk, there are many more shops, cafes and fine dining eateries in the numerous buildings and hotels. Supermarkets are dotted about, including Spinney’s at the Golden Mile. Mall of the Emirates is a short drive away, as is Marina Mall and Madinat Jumeirah.

There's also Nakheel Mall – a new development with Monorail access featuring 350 shops, restaurants and leisure attractions. You'll also find beachside bars and eateries including Club Vista Mare and Bidi Bondi, and others along the Golden Mile complex. Alternatively, take your pick from the fine dining restaurants inside one of the prestigious hotels, each offering its own wow factor.

For young ones, there are a few local nursery schools in Palm Jumeirah, including Asya’s Nursery and a branch of the Babilou nursery chain, both conveniently located on the Palm’s trunk. For primary or secondary schools you‘ll need to go off-Palm. There are several good options in Emirates Living, including DBS; a number of schools on nearby Hessa Street, including Dubai College, GEMS Nations Academy and American School of Dubai; and the new Kings School in Al Barsha.
