Eat, drink and shop
There are local shops to take care of residents’ needs: including a pharmacy, pet stores, barber shop, laundry, nail spa, and a few small supermarkets dotted around, including Milestone Supermarket and Café in JVT, and Spinneys in JVC. For serious shoppers, Mall of the Emirates is not too far away by bus or car. Restaurants in JVC and JVT include Pizzaly and Al Karya Bakery, with many more options a short drive away – Springs Town Centre, Teecom and Sports City have an abundance of cafes, restaurants, shops and supermarkets. Many eateries with outlets in surrounding areas will deliver. Al Khail Avenue Mall & Hotel is currently under construction and will feature 350 stores, multi-screen cinema, cafes, restaurants and a Waitrose supermarket.

JVC and JVT sit at the junction of two major highways (E311 Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and E44 Al Khail Street), giving residents easy access to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates. Travellers can reach Dubai’s main international airport by car in around 30 minutes. Divided by Al Khail Street, both districts have good access to surrounding area like The Springs, The Meadows, Al Barsha and Sports City. Dubai Marina, JBR, JLT and Media City are less than 15 minutes drive away.
Out and about
Most residential buildings come complete with a swimming pool and gym, to keep tenants happy and healthy. Other attractions in JVC and JVT include communal parks, children’s play areas and tennis courts. New Life Fitness Gym offers its facilities in JVC, and nearby Springs Town Centre has a branch of Fitness First. A short drive to Dubai Sports City gives access to lots of sporting clubs and facilities. Golfers can enjoy a round of golf followed by a round of drinks at any one of three top courses in the Middle East, which are all quite close by: The Address Montgomery Dubai, Emirates Golf Club and The Els Club. They all have great restaurants, too.
Primary to secondary
Schools in JVT include Sunmarke School, which offers the British curriculum at foundation, primary and secondary levels and is also home to a branch of Jumeirah International Nursery Schools. Also in JVT, Arcadia Preparatory School offers education from foundation 1 through to year 6. A JSS International School is due to be completed by the end of 2017 and will focus on primary and secondary education up to grade 10. There are also nursery, primary and secondary school options nearby in Emirates Living.
